Can You Supplement Your Way to a Stable Waistline? Life After a GLP-1

For those of us who flirted with semaglutide or tirzepatide we quickly learned it was effective, exciting, and just a little too good to be true—the honeymoon phase might be over. Maybe it was the price. Maybe it was the side effects. Or maybe you just don’t want to stay on the peptide forever. Whatever the case, we have all heard by now that once again availability could become limited.

So what does someone do when the injectable fades and the cravings creep back in?

Here are some of my favorite supplements that can help keep your weight stable and support you on your continued health journey.

1. Berberine: The "Natural Ozempic"

Perhaps you have seen this trending on TikTok, and it’s not for no reason. This compound mimics insulin, supports metabolic health, and helps stabilize blood sugar. It is well researched and has a long history of use in traditional Ayurvedic and Chinese herbal practices. It is also beneficial for bacterial balance in the gut to maintain a healthy microbiome and also supports healthy cholesterol levels.

2. Magnesium: The Chill Pill Your Blood Sugar’s Been Begging For

It supports insulin sensitivity, reduces inflammation. It also supports metabolism of carbohydrates, amino acids, and fats. It’s calming effect may help you feel zen - calm body, calm blood sugar, calm everything. My favorite is magnesium glycinate.

3. Inositol: The Unsung Heroine of Hormonal Harmony

Inositol is superb at balancing your insulin response and helping you stay off the sugar rollercoaster. Especially useful for PCOS babes or those with insulin resistance. This supplement is effective and seriously underestimated.

Increasing your fiber intake and sprinkling cinnamon wherever it is palatable are useful additions to help slow digestion and stabilize your blood sugar. GLP-1s gave us a taste of what it feels like to not constantly think about food. But the real glow-up is learning why our bodies wanted it in the first place. So weather you continue with the injectable ot not, start asking yourself:

  • Am I hungry—or just bored?

  • Do I need a snack—or a nap?

  • Is this a craving—or a cue to slow down?

The bottom line? Eat intentionally, supplement wisely and sleep like you mean it. Your body will thank you whether you’re continuing with the support of GLP-1s or not.
