What are peptides, and why is everyone suddenly obsessed?

It feels like everyone’s talking about peptides lately, and for good reason. What are they exactly? They are chains of amino acids (more simply put they are prteins) and they are making a big splash in the world of health and wellness. Doesn’t it feel like your favorite skincare line now mentions products with peptides? They are showing up in everything from anti-aging serums to longevity protocols.

All the buzz begs me to ask the question…… Are peptides just another trend? Or are they the real MVPs of modern medicine?

Let’s break it down.

First things first, what are they? Peptides are small proteins that naturally occur in your body. Think of them as tiny messengers that tell your cells how to behave. Some stimulate growth hormone. Others aid in healing. Some even help your skin glow (my fav, obvi). Basically, they help your body do what it is already doing only better.

Why is everyone obsessed?

In my opinion, people are obsessed for different reasons. Depends what your body needs and what you are using them for. Different peptides serve different purposes, and there are many of them. Some popular uses include:

  • Improved energy + focus

  • Faster recovery from injury or surgery

  • Deeper sleep

  • Better mood (maybe this is from better sleep :) )

  • Fate loss

  • Anti-aging

If you have an ailment, there’s likely a peptide that can help.

They are well-researched and even FDA-approved for specific uses. In clinical settings, they’re being used to accelerate post-surgical healing, improve metabolic health, and even support hormone balance. The most well known (life-saving) peptide is insulin!

They can be personalized based on your goals and that is what I love about them. It is also another tool in the toolbox to help you tap into the fountain of youth.
